The most known restaurant of Frankfurt’s intellectual, cultural and left-wing political scene is the Café Größenwahn in the quarter of Nordend, with its tradition of a high percentage of voters of the “Grünen”, the green party.
The classic Café Größenwahn, which means “megalomania”, was founded in 1978 and is always visited by authors, politicians, journalists and the whole neighborhood, of course. It’s one of the most popular restaurants in town with at the same time down-to-earth and exquisite cuisine such as local food, salads, pasta, tapas, and some exclusive dishes at affordable prices. In the local magazine Journal Frankfurt it’s nearly every year the best rated restaurant.
Since it’s this famous in Frankfurt, it might take some time until you get a table. Just be patient, it’s really, really worth the wait!
